Contributions Budget Weekend of 4/27/08

$23,700 With only 2 months left in our fiscal year, we are $43,000 short of budget. If you are behind in your contributions please help us by doing what you can to catch up. If you have the financial ability to give more than you pledged we would greatly appreciate your assistance. Thank you for your consideration and generosity. The Parish Election Committee is accepting nominations for two (2) Parish Pastoral Council at-large positions and two (2) School Commission members. These positions are for a three (3) year term to begin on July 1, 2008. Elections will be
held at all Masses on the weekend of May 17/18.
Next Sunday, St. Matthew Day at “Holiday World,” sponsored by Project PAL, will be Saturday, May 17th. Free tickets may be picked up by an adult in the school office Monday, May 12th through Friday, May 16th from7:30 am-3 pm. Tickets are good only for May 17th. This year’s VBS theme is the Veggie Tales, The Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything!” Vacation Bible School registration is underway and forms are available in the parish office and on our web site. Forms are due back by Tuesday, June 3rd! VBS will run June 9-13th from 9 am-Noon each day for preschool children ages 3-5 and Kg-4th grade students. Legacy of Mission Capital Campaign THE LEGACY OF OUR MISSION CAMPAIGN at St. Matthew Parish is still in progress. At this writing we have received over 350 pledges and/or contributions totaling $2,200,000. Sincere thanks to all who have so generously helped us reach 65% of our goal. We urge all parish members who have not responded to prayerfully consider making a pledge or donation. Jubilee InformationHold these dates! The Community of St. Matthew looks forward to celebrating its 50th birthday this year. We are going to celebrate a “Jubilee Season” beginning this Fall at our annual FunFest, September 13, 2008. The season continues through the autumn months with a Jubilee Mass, October 5 at 10:30 a.m., followed by a parish picnic. To complete our season we will host a Jubilee Dinner Dance on Saturday, November 15. We want you to be a part of our festivities. We, also, look for your help in finding former parishioners who should be included in these activities. Watch for reminders and fun activities as we progress. Stewardship Time and Talent OpportunitiesPlease visit the Cub Scout Pack 443 web site for information on all activities!!Needed…a few good men, women and teens (over 16) to staff the St. Matthew Wellness Center!! Mr. McNulty or Mrs. Ruby will contact you. Wellness Center Hours Open to parish Monday - Friday at 6 am -7:30am and 6pm -9pm and on Saturday from 7am -3pm. Automatic Withdrawal Now Available!! One way to assure that your contributions remain current is to sign up for a monthly automatic withdrawal. Many parishes are now using this method on an ongoing basis and find that it can benefit members and assist in maintaining better stability of parish finances.
