Help in the Harvest Garden at St. Matthew. General duties include planting, weeding, watering, harvesting, and clean up. Supervision and help will be provided. All ages are welcome. The garden is located behind the rectory.
Value of your work: The Harvest Garden directly helps feed needy people in the Indianapolis area who can’t afford or don’t have access to healthy vegetables. Since the start of the garden 28 years ago, more than 157,000 pounds of food have been provided to the local community.
Volunteer time commitment: Looking for one hour per month, more if you are able.
Specific times are 4:30-7 p.m. on Monday and Thursday (you don’t need to be there the whole time, just an hour or so) and 9:30 a.m.-noon on Saturday (same comment about an hour or so). To volunteer, contact Tim Jerger to confirm time 1-2 days in advance. By email. By text (preferred) or voicemail: (317) 914-8999.
