Beginning with the weekend of Aug. 1/2, we will no longer require reservations for weekend Masses. Ever since we resumed the celebration of public Masses on weekends, we have utilized a reservation system for attendance to maintain our safe-capacity policy and observe the protocols for social distancing. We have learned over these last two months that we do not need a reservation system. With our safe-capacity and social-distancing protocols, we can accept up to around 102-103 persons per Mass. We have never had reservations for more than 50 persons. So, we want to give it a try to celebrate weekend Masses without folks having to call or email for reservations.
If you wish to come to celebrate a weekend Mass, just come. However, we all still need to observe the safe-capacity and social protocols for gatherings of groups as established by state, local, and Archdiocesan authorities. The blue tape that marks off the pews lets you know where to sit. If you happen to come and see the church is at capacity, then, unfortunately, you will need to come to another Mass. However, with reservations having been so low, this probably won’t happen. This will probably be the case as long as the obligation to celebrate Sunday Mass is suspended. If we find that we need to return to a reservation system, we can always can always do so.
Mass times are Saturday at 5 p.m. and Sunday at 8 a.m., 10 a.m., and noon to allow for sanitizing after each Mass.
