The 40 Days for Life Campaign is underway and will continue through Nov. 1. This is the time in which Christians demonstrate the best of Christian fortitude as we peacefully gather and give voice to those whose only voice is ours.
To watch and listen to inspirational speakers recorded during the campaign kickoff, see https://www.facebook.com/prochristoetmaria/videos/3603885072956148/
During the campaign, people are asked to sign up to walk and pray for an hour during specific time slots in front of Planned Parenthood at 8590 Georgetown Rd. This year the campaign has expanded to 24 hours. For those who cannot get to the vigil site during regular hours, there is a pray-at-home option from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday through Saturday and until noon on Sunday. Please keep mothers, fathers, babies, families, and all Respect Life issues in your daily prayers.
You can also spiritually adopt a child in danger of abortion by praying the following prayer each day:
“Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I love you very much. I beg you to spare the life of the unborn child I have spiritually adopted who is in danger of abortion.” Prayer works!
Also, our parish will be collecting the following items to help the Gabriel Project, which supports mothers and families facing crisis pregnancies. Please leave your donations in the crib in the narthex, and the Respect Life Committee will deliver these items at the end of the 40 days. The Gabriel Project is in need of the following:
· Diapers sizes 4 and 5
· Baby lotion
· Baby shampoo
· Diaper rash cream
· Play mats
