Prayer shawls are a wonderful gift to present to those in need. They provide warmth, comfort, and remind the wearer of God’s love. Prayer shawls are prayed over as they are made with the intent that they minister to the specific needs of their recipient.
If you would like one, please stop by Stephen Sulka’s office in the Parish Office. In keeping with the mission of this ministry, we encourage those who are interested in taking shawls to offer them to people who are sick and/or grieving. You are encouraged to examine the shawls before you pick one because they vary in size, shape, and color. Care instructions vary depending material. Most shawls are made of acrylic: these can be machine washed on cold and tumble dry low. Some shawls are made of wool: these must be hand washed in Woolite and line dried.
The group will meet on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month from 10:00 a.m. to noon. If you are interested in joining, or just have questions, please reach out to Carol Andersen at 317.919.7469. All are welcome to join. Completed prayer shawls can be picked up in the Parish Office in Stephen Sulka’s Office.
