Elementary<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

At St. Matthew, each child\u2019s unique path to learning is important to us.\u00a0 We are proud to offer an eighteen-to-one student-teacher ratio<\/strong> to ensure we know and understand what your child needs.\u00a0 Each of our grade levels has two homerooms, and multiple instructional methods are utilized within each grade. We employ stations, small groups, direct instruction, and hands-on activities. In addition to core subject matters, we offer a variety of \u201cSpecials\u201d for all grades including STEAM, Art, Music, Library and Physical Education.\u00a0 To help prepare and bridge our fourth and fifth graders for their Middle School journey, they follow a \u201cMini-Middle School\u201d<\/strong> concept and rotate among the fourth and fifth grade teachers for specific subjects, giving them the opportunity to switch classrooms, adapt to different teaching styles, and increase their personal organization.<\/p>\n

Middle School<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Our Middle School, for sixth through eighth grades, has been designed to help prepare our students for the workload and expectations of high school.\u00a0 All Middle School core classes meet daily in a rotating schedule.\u00a0 In addition to the Specials offered to all ages, Middle School students participate in Spanish, Band and Warrior Academy.\u00a0 Warrior Academy<\/strong>, a program unique to St. Matthew, focuses on leadership and executive functioning skills, conflict resolution and compromise, study habits, and other key life skills.\u00a0 Each year, our eighth-grade students conclude their St. Matthew education with a week-long trip to Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n
