At St. Matthew, faith is our foundation.  Students attend Mass, led by Fr. Bill, each Wednesday morning, and classes rotate having the opportunity to prepare and lead Mass throughout the school year.  Children are invited to participate in children’s choir and to train to become servers.  Our youngest students get to have their “buddies” (older students who are their assigned partners) sit next to them to help them be comfortable and learn about the tradition of the Mass.   All SMS students also have a daily Religion lesson in the classroom, even including our littlest Warriors in Preschool and Pre-K.

A variety of faith-driven traditions are a special part of each school year, from the celebration of the Sacraments and Saints’ Day to the re-enactment of the Passion of Christ and the May Crowning of Mary.

Our faith also informs our service to others.  Throughout the year, students have opportunities to gain service hours by helping on projects, volunteering, and supporting outside organizations through our “Fund-a-Friend” program and other non-profits.
