Father Geoff Mooney – Priests, Prophets, Kings: the Vocation of the Baptized
Scripture is clear. All those baptized into Christ have clothed themselves with Christ, and whoever is in Christ is a new creation. By our baptism, we are a new creation, the cherished possession of God, a royal priesthood, the inheritors of an eternal kingdom, children of infinite dignity, free and forgiven. This marvelous truth should frame every thought, every word, every action of our lives. Our baptism invites us into a beautiful vocation of love and sacrifice. Baptism is not merely an event of the past, but a dynamic reality forever naming us as priests, prophets, and kings. As Catholics, how can we more fully embrace our baptismal identity in the Church and in the world today?
Father Mooney is in his third year as a math teacher and chaplain at Cathedral High School. Originally from New Albany, IN, he began teaching in 2009 through the Alliance for Catholic Education Teaching Fellows program at Notre Dame University before joining the Congregation of Holy Cross. He studied at Moreau Seminary and was ordained to the priesthood in 2021

Julie Reyes – I Thirst
When Jesus cried out “I thirst” from the cross, He revealed not only his physical suffering but also a longing for the conversion of our hearts. Through Prayer, Scripture and Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si, we will listen to how Christ’s cry echoes in the suffering of the poor and the earth and discern how we are called to respond through lives of compassion, simplicity, and active care for creation.
Julie Reyes is a member of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis Creation Care Commission and works at Mundell & Associates Environmental Consulting where she recently was part of an international team coordinating the Vatican’s Laudato Si Action Platform. Julie is an active member of St Matthew parish and a school mom.
